Hi, I’m Emma – the GP, personal trainer, and health coach behind FORM. I’ve been a qualified doctor for the last 14 years and a high‑level amateur triathlete for the past decade, with a recent dabble in Hyrox! I’m also a wife and mum to a gorgeous little girl.
Over the past decade, I’ve gone from a serious lack of self‑confidence and barely being able to swim 50 metres to crossing the Ironman Austria finish line in 11 h 35 m. Since then, I’ve medalled at the GB Age‑Group Long Distance Worlds, competed at the Half‑Ironman World Championships, and returned to racing just 11 months postpartum.
My achievements have taught me the power of self‑belief and the importance of accountability. I have learned how to shift my mindset and prioritise my time – balancing parenting, work, social commitments, training and self-care. As I have grown older, I have also learned the value of staying ‘robust’ as a competitor and remaining fit for myself and my daughter. As such, strength and conditioning have formed an integral part of my training and helped my recent migration into Hyrox. My personal passions drove me to undertake qualifications in health coaching, personal training and to complete a diploma in Sports and Exercise Medicine so I could formalise my knowledge and integrate it into my work.
As my knowledge grew and trends migrated towards a pro-active approach to health, I knew I could help people more. I recognised the power of small lifestyle changes that were often overlooked and shared patient’s frustration with the lack of support in this area, particularly if they were deemed ‘too healthy to be helped!’ I wanted to practise ‘preventative’ medicine – where lifestyle is optimised to minimise the chances or disease occurring and limit its impact. I wanted to enable and empower my patients so that they could achieve their goals. So, FORM was created – a service that represents both my personal and professional journey, where my combined learnings and expertise form a unified approach. FORM helps you to cut through the noise, giving you the best evidence-based advice and providing the ongoing support you need to achieve your goals, whatever they are.
